Ticket to Play

Ticket to Play Details

Important things to know:

There is a Ticket to Play packet and an actual TICKET to Play (both are required). The Ticket to Play packet is a PDF document that can be found on the DNHS Athletics home page. The Ticket to Play packet must be filled out completely and submitted to the DNHS Athletics office during the designated time frame. After the packet is submitted and processed, the actual TICKET to Play is produced. The TICKET to Play is picked up at the DNHS Athletics office during the designated time frame. Student athletes are expected to submit this Ticket to play to the coach the first day of tryouts.
NO TICKET, NO TRYOUTS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

The deadlines to submit the completed Ticket to Play Packet and pick up the Ticket to Play are FIRM. If you miss either one, you are not eligible to play that season. Specific dates for the year are posted on the DNHS Athletics website and included below.

A physical is required to participate in any of the Athletic programs at DNHS, (more details on physicals are under To Obtain a Ticket To Play). There are 2 options for getting a physical:

a. Attend the DNHS Physical Night on Thursday, May 24. The fee is $25; details are on the DNHS Athletics webpage.

b. See your own physician for a physical and take page 4 of the Ticket to Play packet for your physician to complete and stamp. If you are going to see your own physician for the physical, we advise you to schedule it on or after May 24, 2018 to insure the physical is valid through all three athletic seasons in the 2018/19 school year.

The Athletic Handbook is to be read before you complete the Ticket to Play packet. Athletes and parents/guardians are responsible for the information contained in the handbook.

If you have questions about a specific sport, contact the coach directly. Contact information and schedules are available on the DNHS Athletic page under Athletic Teams.

Both the Ticket to Play packet and the actual TICKET to Play are good for the school year. As long as the physical is valid, you do not need to submit a new packet for each season of participation during a school year.

Student insurance is required for all students trying out for any sport. If you are not currently covered, student insurance may be purchased through Pacific Educators, www.peinsurance.com. Valid insurance information is required in the Ticket to Play packet. If insurance information is missing the Ticket to Play packet will not be accepted.

The DNHS Athletic office is closed from June 20, 2018 through July 29, 2018. Athletics will reopen on Monday, July 30, 2018.

To obtain a Ticket to Play (TTP):

•Go to the DNHS Athletics Home page; print and fill out all pages in the Ticket to Play packet (PDF).

• Fill out the entire packet in blue or black ink. Any incomplete packets will be returned to the student and not accepted until they are complete. Please be sure to go over the entire document thoroughly. A physical is part of the completed packet. Physicals are valid for 12 months from the date of exam and must not expire during the season of participation including tryouts and the post season. The physical must be an original, complete with the physicians’ stamp. The following will not be accepted as valid physicals: a copy of a physical, a physical without a physicians’ stamp, a physical done in a state other than California and a physical that will expire during the season of participation.

• The Ticket to Play packet is to be submitted to the DNHS Athletic office during the designated time frame. No other office will accept it.

• The actual Ticket to Play will be available to pick up at the DNHS Athletics office during the designated time frame. The DNHS Athletic office is not open on weekends, holidays or district recess days.
